This type is higher quality than type1 and is known as the refined Portland cement and its phase C3A is maximum 8.
Properties
Medium level of heat generation and a moderate anti-sulfate quality, relatively slow setting which makes it more suitable to concrete pour in a tropical weather.
Benefits of concrete made of cement type2
Good resistance to corrosion by both sulfate and chloride, and decrease the corrosion of armature in concrete.
Better function in a tropical weather and massive concrete pour because of low heat of hydration.
Less concrete cracks due to low heat of hydration.
More durable concrete because of a slow and continuous increase in strength
Resistance to the destructive alkali-aggregate reactions
Type II For general use, more especially when moderate Sulfate resistance or moderate heat of hydration is desired.
Not to use
It is not suitable to use in the structures which are exposed to sulfate attack, as the marine structures.
